Biological Mama, Adopted Mama, Angel Mama, Bonus Mama, Foster Mama, Spiritual Mama, Filling in the Gap Mama, Grand Mama, Auntie Mama, God Mama, Teacher Mama, Community Mama, And Mama at Heart...
Mama.
It's not easy, a title to carry.
The significance of it alone is a weight too heavy for many to bear.
Yet here you are - with the open and big heart of a true Mama.
Whether you realize it or not - your existence matters.
You love and support through thick and thin, better or worse.
Even when death and grief do their best to pull you apart.
Someone, somewhere, gets to claim a home in your heart - no distance between Heaven and Earth could ever alter that.
Your love, your commitment, your sacrifice, and selflessness - these are worth much more than you will ever know.
It's worth more than money could ever buy.
It's worth more than being perfect and always getting things right.
No matter how you think you failed, could've, or should've done better - more times than not, you mothered and loved straight from your heart.
Doing your best, offering your best, expecting nothing in return than the satisfaction and peace in your heart that they were loved and cared for.
No matter how you fit in as a Mama - know that you deserve all the love and to be celebrated in return.
So, Mama, stand tall and adjust your crown, this shout-out is for you!

Just yesterday, I wrote this special poem for all the Mamas for Mother’s Day. Whether you fall into one of the categories above or know someone who does, this poem was meant to reignite faith, hope, and confidence in what mothers face and do day in and day out.
